Zephyr MKIII Sauvignon Blanc 2020, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Feb-2022
Bright, pale yellow, even colour throughout. The bouquet is focused, softly filling the glass with aromas of flint, fennel, burnt butter underlying guava and currants. Full-bodied, mouth-filling aromas of flint, raw almond, soft butter and caraway seed intertwined guava, lime and currants. The secondary nuances are well-proportioned and elegantly presented, immersed with the tropical fruit and salivating acidity. Dusty-fine phenolics left a smooth and elegant mouthfeel. A poised barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc features juicy tropical fruit and savoury, flinty elements on a textural mouthfeel. Match with fish pie and scallops with parsnip puree over the next 5-8 years. Fermented to 13% alc, 2.9 g/l RS. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Feb 2022 RRP $32
