Zephyr Marlborough Riesling 2016

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Jan-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with some depth, pale edged. This has a very fine, elegantly proportioned nose with delicate aromas of lime fruit and white florals harmoniously interwoven with notes of rainwater and mouthwatering mineral elements at the core. Off-dry to taste and light=medium bodied, the palate features a firmly concentrated core of lime and lemon fruit with lifted white florals and hints of honeysuckle, unveiling thirst-quenching mineral notes. The wine is poised with brisk acidity enlivening and lifting the fruit aromatics, and the wine flows with good drive and linearity, leading to a long, lingering, fine-featured and textured, dryish finish. This is a finely concentrated, poised and refreshing off-dry Riesling with lime, lemon and white floral fruit, and mouthwatering mineral nuances. Serve as an aperitif, and with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 4-5+ years. Fruit from ‘Kerseley Estate’, Dillons Point, from 24 y.o. vines, cool-fermented to 11.5% alc. and 7.6 g/L RS, T9.6 g/L and pH 3.0. 334 dozen made. 18.5/20 Jan 2017 RRP $22.99
