Zeal ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Oct-2016
Bright, very light straw-yellow, near colourless on the rim. This has a very tightly bound nose with delicate aromas of white florals and white stonefruits, unfolding notes of gooseberry fruit and fresh herbs, along with green stonefruits and mineral elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is taut, but possesses a concentrated core with flavours of white stonefruit, gooseberries and minerals. The mouthfeel is elegant in proportion and presentation, with good linearity. The wine has a slippery flow guided by a fine phenolic thread and enlivened by crisp, lacy, thirst-quenching acidity lending a dryness to the mouthfeel. The wine carries to a fine and elegant, lingering finish of gooseberries, herbs and minerals. This is a taut, crisp and racy Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry, white stonefruit and mineral flavours carried by a fine dry line and refreshing acidity. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2+ years. Hand-picked fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.9 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Oct 2016 RRP $24.99
