Yves Cuilleron ‘Roussiliere’ VDT 2009

Sweet Wine from France - Rhone
Review Date : 10-Mar-2011
Made from Viognier and Marsanne from the Chavanay district, fermented to 12.5% alc., and 100 g/L rs. Bright light golden-yellow in colour, this has a deeply intense nose of wild honey, caramel, lozenges and raisins, showing some botrytis elements. Sweetish, just, on palate, this has strong, burnished flavours of honey and caramel. The wine is rather dry and astringent, this combined with lowish acidity results in a flatness to the palate. A complex aperitif style or a wine to serve with biscuits, dried fruits and nuts over the next 3-5 years.  Mar 2011
