Yves Cuilleron ‘Madiniere’ Cote-Rotie 2009

Syrah from France - Rhone
Review Date : 27-May-2012
100% Syrah from a 2 ha site north of Ampuis, the wine aged 18 months in barriques. Very full and densely coloured, black-red and purple, this has a densely packed nose of well-ripened black fruits, revealing black pepper, iron and earth. The oaking is absorbed by the fruit richness. Full-bodied, the flavours of black fruits and minerals are tightly concentrated and framed by firm, fine-grained tannins. Racy acidity enlivens the fruit robustness, providing a degree of elegance and drive, leading to a very long fnish of vibrantly sweet, ripe black berry fruits, with complex blood and iron elements. This is a wine to keep 15+ years.  19.5/20  May 2012  RRP $110.00
