Yves Cuilleron ‘Bassenon’ Cote Rotie 2009

Syrah from France - Rhone
Review Date : 27-May-2012
90% Syrah and 10% Viognier from 1.5 ha on Coteau de Semons, the wine aged 18 months in barriques. Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour. This has a very fine, savoury perfumed bouquet of red and black florals with ripe dark berry fruits, game, spices and toast unfolding in the glass. The aromatic lift reflects the Viognier. An elegant wine in proportion, this is luscious and plush with bright and succulent black and red berry fruit flavours, along with hints of leaf. The suppleness of tannins and accessible mouthfeel is a feature. This is a beautiful wine with fresh juiciness and a very long finish. This will age a decade easily.  19.0+/20  May 2012  RRP $104.00
