Yering Station ‘Village’ Yarra Valley Shiraz/Viognier 2010

Syrah from Australia - Victoria
Review Date : 18-Jun-2015
Shiraz co-fermented with 5% Viognier to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 30% new oak. Dark, black-red colour with some garnet hues. This has an elegantly presented bouquet with soft aromas of savoury black fruits enhanced by black pepper and earthy plum notes, some game-like secondary interest, along with subtle floral nuances. The palate is medium-full bodied and elegantly proportioned with a core of sweetly rich dark red and berry and plum fruits, savoury pepper and lifted stonefruit hints. The fruit is supported by supple tannin extraction, and the mouthfeel fresh with plenty of acidity. This is harmonious, balanced and drinking well now. 17.5-/20 Jun 2015 RRP $37.95
