Yealands State of Flux Sauvignon Blanc 2019, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Apr-2021
Bright, moderate straw-yellow with a gold hue, even colour throughout. The nose is fragrant, complex and softly full, aromas of chamomile flower, fennel, honey interweave apple, lime, guava, lemon curd and sherbet, and delicate spices. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, aromas of green apple, guava and citrus have a vibrant core and purity, underlined fennel, chamomile flower, and subtle spices; a hint of honey lingers with citrus zest to a mineral finish. The wine has fluidity and great energy; seamless flow leaves a rounded mouthfeel, along with fine-textured phenolic added a slight powdery grip. A complex range of flavours in well-proportions, showing varietal characters and elegant details. Match with goat's cheese & caramelized onion tart and salt cod brandade over the next 5 years. Fruit from Awatere Valley, wild fermented and aged in concrete egg for 11 months. 12/% alc. Vegan friendly. 19/20 pts (95 pts) Apr 2021 RRP $37.99
