Yealands ‘Land Made’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Nov-2017
Light ruby-red colour with a little depth and slight purple hues, pale on the rim. The nose is very elegant with delicate aromas of dark-red cherry and berry fruit, with lifted red florals and subtle notes of herbs with some minerally reduction. The aromatics form a tight core. Medium-bodied, the palate is slender in proportion, with fine and tightly bound flavours of sweetly rich dark-red cherry and berry fruit with soft notes of raspberry entwined with herbs and subtle minerally reduction notes. The fruit is underlined by light, fine-grained tannin extraction lending background structure. The mouthfeel has good acid energy, and the flavours carry to a lingering finish of red cherries and herbs. This is a tightly bound, sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with red cherry, herb and reductive flavours on a fine-textured, bright palate. Serve with salmon and tuna, and with poultry dishes over the next 3-4 years. Marlborough fruit fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in French oak. 16.5/20 Nov 2013 RRP $22.00
