Yealands ‘Land Made’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Sep-2016
Moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour with garnet hues, lighter on the rim with a little bricking. The nose is very soft and restrained with gently packed and diffuse aromas of dark-red berry fruits melded with dark herbal nuances and a hint of minerally reduction. Medium-bodied and elegant in expression, the palate possesses a gentle and rounded core of soft red berry fruits intermixed with dark herbs and mineral detail. The mouthfeel is soft with modest tannin extraction lending light textures and line. The acidity is fresh and lacy, enlivening the mouthfeel. The flavours recede as the wine carries to a soft finish. This is a soft, light, red-fruited Pinot Noir with some herbal and mineral notes, with underlying lacy acid liveliness. Serve with firm-fleshed seafood and poultry over the next 2+ years. Marlborough fruit given a cold soak and warm-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged with French oak. 16.0/20 Sep 2016 RRP $22.00
