Yealands Estate ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Feb-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is very tight and refined in expression with ethereal perfumes of lifted gooseberry fruit with minerals, white florals and limes. The aromatics are delicate and pure with real clarity. Dry to taste, elegant and stylishly proportioned flavours of gooseberries, limes and florals are enlivened by bright, lacy acidity. Attractive detailed nuances of exotic florals and tropical fruits emerge adding interest. This has a finely textured and concentrated core with linear drive that carries the flavours to a very long, lingering finish. This is an elegant, refined and poised Sauvignon of clarity and delicacy. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 2+ years. Fruit from 5 parcels on ‘Donnelly's Block', Seaview, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3.6 g/L rs, the wine spending 2 months on lees. 18.5/20 Feb 2013 RRP $21.95
