Yealands Estate ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-May-2011
The two best parcels of fruit from the ‘Seaview' vineyard in the Awatere were selected to make this wine. Cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 3 g/L rs, the wine given lees contact and stirring. Bright and full, very pale straw-yellow colour with youthful green hues, this hasa very fine anf intense bouquet of pure English gooseberries and minerals. This is classic Awatere in expression. Dry to taste, the palate shows delicate, but luscious flavours of gooseberries, minerals, flint and herbs. This is a wine of finesse and smooth textures through the palate line with excellent acidity which lead to a gentle, dry finish. Drink with all seafood, especially shellfish, and creamy cheeses over the next 3-4 years. 18.5-/20 May 2011 RRP $24.90
