Yealands Estate ‘Single Block”M2′ Wairau Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Feb-2013
Fruit from the ‘Mills and Ford' vineyard in the Lower Wairau, on silt loam over alluvial gravels, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs. Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on edge. This has a full, broad and intensely concentrated nose of passionfruit and crush herbs, the aromatics very finely presented. Dry to taste, concentrated and densely packed flavours of passionfruit, herbs and minerals show with excellent weight and presence. The fruit extract adds to the fine and soft textures, the roundness accentuated by the restrained acidity. The flavours blossom from mid-palate and tropical fruit notes emerge. The palate is rich and solid and leads to a robust and textured, lingering finish. This is a rich and densely packed Sauvignon Blanc with plenty of passionfruit flavours to match with Chinese cuisine over the next 2 years. 18.5/20 Feb 2013 RRP $24.95
