Yealands Estate ‘Single Block”L5′ Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Feb-2013
Bright, full, soft straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The nose is soft and gently interwoven with intricate aromas of gooseberries, nettles, grass and exotic white florals. Dry to taste, openly accessible flavours of nettles, fresh herbs and gooseberries show with good depth and very fine textures and linearity. The fruit is enlivened by piquant, mouthwatering acidity which drives the palate to a very long, crisp and racy finish. This is a very dry Sauvignon Blanc with herb and nettle flavours and thirst-quenching acidity. Serve with seafood, especially shellfish over the next 2+ years. From the coastal ‘L5' block on the ‘Seaview' vineyard on loess, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 2 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees 6 weeks with batonnage. 18.5+/20 Feb 2013 RRP $24.95
