Fruit from the ‘R2' block of the ‘Seaview' vineyard, hand-picked and WBP. Up to 40% of the blend with barrel influence, including components with barrel ferment, indigenous yeasts and MLF, and all of the wine undergoing lees aging and batonnage. 13.5% alc. and 2 g/L rs. Brilliant, even straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on rim. The bouquet is very refined and slender in proportion, still very tightly bound, with aromas of fresh gooseberries, nectarines and greengages, along with subtle oak spice notes. Dry to taste and very elegantly presented, very attractive and fresh flavours of gooseberries, nectarines and stonefruits are entwined with positive, subtle oak spice notes. This is beautifully balanced with its concentrated line, refined and crisp acidity and extremely smooth textures. The palate has vibrancy and energy which leads to a very long and sustained finish of delicate fruit and oak nuances. This is a wonderfully balanced and elegant oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with real finesse. Serve with grilled seafood and herb-marinated poultry over the next 3 years. 19.0/20 Feb 2013 RRP $29.95
