Yalumba ‘Y Series’ South Australia Viognier 2015

Viognier from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 26-May-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with light green-golden hues, paler on the rim. This has an finely presented and intense nose of apricot and citrus fruits entwined with exotic florals, unveiling citrus zest, herb and musk detail as the aromatics build in intensity. Dry to taste, fresh, lively and luscious flavours of exotic tropical fruits, citrus zest and apricots are layered with musk notes. The mouthfeel is soft and near unctuous with soft acidity adding to the roundness. A light, dry phenolic line balances the richness and leads to a long and sustained finish of citrus zest and apricots. This is a fresh, luscious, exotic Viognier with citrus zest and apricot flavours and a fine, textured line. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 2-3 years. South Australian fruit fermented to14.1% alc. Winemaker: Heather Fraser. 17.0/20 May 2016 RRP $14.95
