Yalumba ‘Y Series’ South Australia Tempranillo 2014

Tempranillo from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 23-Nov-2016
Even ruby-red colour, a little lighter on edge. This has a firm and elegantly proportioned nose with aromas of dark-red berry fruit melded with a funky amalgam of dark herbs and minerals. Medium-full bodied, the palate has well bound flavours of red berry fruits layered with herbs, nuts and minerals. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained tannin extraction lending a fine-textured, but firm line. The acidity is fresh and balanced, lending good drive and energy, and the wine carries to a tightly bound, elegant finish of red fruits, minerals and herbs. This is a finely concentrated Tempranillo with red berryfruits, nuts, herbs and mineral detail on a fine-textured, fresh palate. Match with antipasto and tapas over the next 3 years. South Australia fruit indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc. Winemaker: Sam Wigan. 16.0+/20 Nov 2016 RRP 16.95
