Yalumba ‘Y Series’ South Australia Shiraz 2014

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 26-May-2016
Full, very dark, black-hued red colour with some purple on the rim. The nose is full, open and accessible with ripe aromas of black plums, boysenberries, liquorice and Asian spice notes. The aromatics build in depth in the glass. Medium-full bodied, soft, full and sweetly ripe flavours of black plums, boysenberries and liquorice feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is fulsome with some alcoholic warmth and drive. Soft tannins provide supple textures, and ripe acidity adds to the roundness. The wine carries to a soft, dry finish. This is a fulsome, soft, ripe plum, boysenberry and liquorice flavoured Shiraz with some underlying power. Serve with casseroles and game meat over the next 3+ years. South Australia fruit fermented to 13.5% alc. Winemaker: Andrew La Nauze. 16.5+/20 May 2016 RRP $14.95
