Yalumba ‘Y Series’ South Australia Sangiovese Rosé 2016

Rose from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 23-Nov-2016
Bright, pale candyfloss pink with some depth, very light on the edge. The nose is soft and fresh with moderately deep aromas of savoury cranberry and pomegranate fruit along with subtle, mouthwatering mineral notes. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate features soft and delicately expressed cranberry and red floral flavours with a bright and attractive lift. The palate is juicy with mouthwatering acidity enlivening the mouthfeel and enhancing the energy and flow. The wine carries to a fine, light-textured, dry, thirst-quenching finish. This dry rosé has delicate cranberry, pomegranate and floral flavours on a juicy and refreshing palate. Serve as an aperitif, with canapes and antipasto over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Gomersal’ and ‘Penrice’ vineyards in the Barossa Valley, and the estate Wrattonbully site, given 1-3 hours skin contact and cool, tank-fermented by indigenous yeasts to 12.0% alc. and 1.8 g/L RS. Winemaker: Sam Wigan. 16.5+/20 Nov 2016 RRP 16.95
