Yalumba ‘Y Series’ South Australia Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 30-Apr-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with a little depth, lighter edged. The nose is fresh and clean with light aromas of white stonefruits and subtle notes of white florals, and suggestions of nuts and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is taut and slender in presentation with light flavours of white stonefruits, white florals and nuances of nuts. The palate has a light, dry, fine-textured phenolic line and moderate acid liveliness. The wine flows with good drive, leading to a clean, straightforward finish of florals and stonefruits. This is a taut and slender dry Pinot Grid with light, but clean stonefruit and floral flavours on a light-textured palate. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and poultry over the next 2 years. South Australian fruit employing hand-picking and WBP, indigenous yeast fermented on full solids to 12.5% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Winemaker: Heather Fraser. 16.0/20 May 2017 RRP $16.95
