Yalumba ‘Y Series’ South Australia Merlot 2013

Merlot from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 26-May-2016
Even, dark ruby-red colour with a little garnet on the rim. The nose is full, soft and harmonious with aromas of black plums interwoven with mulberries, dark herbs and currants, and savoury green olive elements. The aromatics are gently packed and grow in presence with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate features softly full and harmoniously layered flavours of black plums, mulberries, dark herbs and nuances of black pepper. Soft and supple tannins provide a light grip and mellow structure, and the wine shows depth and density as it leads to a moderately long finish. This is a full, soft and harmonious Merlot with plum, mulberry and herb flavours, and good depth and density. Match with herb-marinated lamb, beef and venison dishes over the next 3 years. South Australia fruit fermented to 13.5% alc. Winemaker: Natalie Cleghorn. 16.5+/20 May 2016 RRP $14.95
