Yalumba ‘Y Series’ South Australia Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 30-Apr-2017
Very dark, deep, black-hued purple-red colour, a little lighter on the edge. This has a very fine, firm and intense nose of blackcurrant fruit along with notes of cassis, dark herbs, mint and suggestions of leaf. The aromatics are fresh, and still quite primary in expression and show with clarity. Medium-full bodied, the palate has an intense core with concentrated flavours of juicy and ripe blackcurrants and cassis, entwined with mint elements. The mouthfeel is lively and fresh, with lacy acidity, and the palate flows easily along an underlining extracted palate, leading to a long, lingering finish of blackcurrants and mint. This is an elegantly concentrated, juicy Cabernet Sauvignon with blackcurrant and cassis flavours with fine, grainy tannin structure, the wine showing classical varietal expression. Match with roast lamb and beef over the next 3+ years. South Australian fruit fermented to 14.0% alc. 17.0+/20 May 2017 RRP $16.95
