Yalumba ‘Y Series’ South Australia Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 26-May-2016
Very dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter edged. The nose is elegant in presentation with penetrating aromas of blackcurrants, mint and herbs, cassis and a subtle, piquant stalkiness. This is intense and singular, and fruit-focussed. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses a tight, concentrated line of blackcurrants, cassis and herbs, along with nuances of stalk. The palate is firm with grainy tannin line and lacy acid tension providing drive and energy. The wine carries to a fruit-focussed, tight finish of blackcurrants and herbs. This is a firm, tight, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon with focussed blackcurrant and herb flavours. Match with barbecued red meat dishes over the next 3+ years. South Australia fruit fermented to 13.0% alc. Winemaker: Natalie Cleghorne. 16.0//20 May 2016 RRP $14.95
