Yalumba The Y Series Tempranillo 2021, South Australia

Tempranillo from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 23-Mar-2022
Full, deep ruby-red with a purple hue, lighter on the rim. The wine is open with a lush bouquet, aromas of bramble, blackcurrant leaf intermixed spice and violet. Full-bodied, mouth-filling palate led by bramble and berry stew, violet and a hint of leafy character, spices filled the closing. The fruit shows concentration with broadness; finely extracted tannin left a smooth mouthfeel, lingering to a savoury, dry finish. This is a smooth-flowing, mouth-filling Tempranillo with a bramble fruit core and spice. Match with grilled meat and lamb koftas over the next 2-3 years. Wild fermented to 14% alc, without the use of oak. Vegan friendly. 17.5/20 pts (88 pts) Mar 2022 RRP $18
