Yalumba ‘The Scribbler’ Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon /Shiraz 2009

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 27-Jul-2011
Full, deep, purple-red in colour, youthful in appearance, this has bright and fresh aromas of dark raspberry and plum jam, with ripe black peppery notes, lifted with spices and violetty perfumes. Medium weighted, the palate has bright, juicy raspberry and boysenberry flavours along with dark berried, plummy notes. Moderate tannin extraction has resulted in a supple texture that allows the fruit sweetness to feature. Good acidity contributes to the vitality and accessibility. A tribute wine to the Yalumba flag bearer ‘The Signature', this is 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and 39% Shiraz from the Barossa, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 19 month in 22% American, French and Hungarian oak. Match with pasta, pizza and barbecued red meat dishes over the next 4-6 years. 17.5+/20 Jul 2011 RRP $25.00
