Very dark, deep, black-hued purple-red colour, a little lighter on the rim, very youthful in appearance. The nose is softly full with rich and ripe up-front primary aromas of black plums, blackberries and boysenberry jam with lifted nuances of confectionary. This has depth and presence. Medium-full bodied, the palate has sweetly rich and plush flavours of ripe blackberries, black plums and boysenberries, along with liquorice and jam elements. The fruit is up-front and enlivened by fresh acidity, and supported by light tannin extraction providing background structure. The palate carries the wine to a sweet and gently juicy finish. This is an up-front, sweetly ripe-fruited Shiraz with flavours of blackberries, black plums and boysenberries with jam and liquorice notes on a plush palate. Serve with grilled and barbecued red meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Carypides’, ‘Barich’, ‘Palena’ and ‘Strachan’ vineyards fermented to 13.5% alc. Winemaker: Heather Fraser.
