Yalumba ‘Galway Vintage’ Barossa Valley Malbec 2014

Malbec from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 30-Apr-2017
Dark, deep, black-hearted ruby-red colour with lighter garnet hues on the rim. The nose is softly full and accessible with aromas of dark-red berry fruits along with an amalgam of boysenberries and notes of eucalypt and cedar. Medium-full bodied, the palate possesses sweetly rich dark-red and black berried fruits along with notes of boysenberries and eucalyptus. The flavours have very good depth and intensity, unveiling a subtle layering of cedar. The fruit is underlined by light, supple tannin extraction lending a smooth, flowing mouthfeel. The acidity is fresh and enhances the energy, and the wines flows easily to a long and sustained finish of black fruits, spices, eucalypt and cedar. This is a smooth, supple Malbec with fine and intense dark-red berry and boysenberry flavours with notes of spice, eucalypt and cedar. Match with barbecued, grilled and roasted red meats over the next 3 years.. Malbec fruit from the Barossa Valley floor fermented to 13.5% alc. 16.5+/20 May 2017 RRP $19.95
