Yalumba ‘Galway Vintage’ Barossa Valley Malbec 2013

Malbec from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 26-May-2016
Full, dark, deep, purple-hued black-red colour, youthful in appearance. The bouquet is initially reserved, but grows to reveal tightly bound and concentrated aromas of ripe black-berried fruits with subtle herbal, spice and mineral detail. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned and tightly bound with intense and penetrating flavours of black berried fruits entwined with black mineral and spice notes. The fruit blossoms in sweetness and richness and flows along a fine-textured line. The extraction is light and the tannins flowery and supple, and lead the wine to a tight, detailed and dry finish with spice and mineral nuances. A little shy on the nose, this is an elegant Malbec with intense flavours and a fine-grained structure. Match with slow-cooked game meat dishes over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the Barossa Valley floor, fermented to 13.0% alc. 16.5/20 May 2016 RRP $16.95
