Yalumba ‘Galway Vintage’ Barossa Shiraz 2014

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 26-May-2016
Dark, deep ruby-red colour with black hues at the heart and lighter purple on the rim. This has a finely presented nose with deep aromas of ripe, blackberry and plum fruit, along with liquorice, soft spice and nutty elements, unfolding eucalypt notes, Medium-full bodied, the palate is soft and rich with gently sweet and plush flavours of ripe black plums, blackberries, liquorice and spice. Eucalypt layers emerge, adding to the harmonious waves of flavour. The palate is smooth-flowing with supple tannins and integrated acidity, and the wine carries with good drive to an elegant, lingering finish of plums and liquorice. This is a soft, plush and harmonious Shiraz with flavours of plums, liquorice and nuances of eucalypt, and a smooth flowing palate. Serve with barbecued and roasted red meat dishes over the next 3+ years. Fruit from Barossa growers, fermented to 13.5% alc. in static Potter and rotary fermenters. 17.0/20 May 2016 RRP $16.95
