Yalumba ‘Bush Vine’ Barossa Grenache 2008

Grenache from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 27-Jul-2011
Light ruby-red colour with some purple hues and a pale edge. This has a softly fresh and intense nose of ripe dark raspberries with notes of dark spices and rosemary herb. A medium-weighted wine, this has juicy, succulent, ripe dark raspberry fruit flavours along with herb and jam elements on a softly textured, supple, modestly extracted palate. The rich and sweet fruit is the feature, yet the wine has a stylish restraint. There is a little alcohol warmth, and the wine finishes with fine drying tannin textures. Fruit from Barossa Valley bush vines 30-70 y.o., indigenous yeast initiated fermentation with some whole bunches, to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 6 months in seasoned French oak. An accessible and archetypical Grenache to match with pizza, pasta, barbecued meat and hearty lamb dishes over the next 4-5+ years. 17.5+/20 Jul 2011 RRP $25.00
