Xanadu Margaret River Chardonnay 2012

Chardonnay from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 18-Jun-2015
Bright staw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues. This has an elegant, tight and penetrating nose with concentrated aromas of stonefruits with ripe citrussy and mealy notes, integrated with subtle flinty layers that unfold with balanced oak detail. Very elegant and tightly concentrated on palate, the flavours of stonefruits citrus fruits, mealy and flint notes form an integrated heart. The wine flows with good tension and balance leading to a fine, dry, long lingering finish. The tightness will relax and the wine will develop greater richness and detail over the next 5+ years. Mendoza clone fruit barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 25% new oak with batonnage but no MLF. 18.0/20 Jun 2015 RRP $38.95
