Xanadu ‘Exmoor’ Margaret River Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 10-Aug-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with pale lemon-gold hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and tightly bound with softly packed aromas of white stonefruits and florals with subtle nutty oak and flinty lees elements. The aromatics are refreshing and mouthwatering. Medium-bodied, the palate is moderately rich with sweet and juicy flavours of stonefruits and citrus fruits, long with subtle nutty oak and flinty detail. The mouthfeel is crisp and fresh with bright acidity, and a light phenolic grip provides texture and line. The wine carries to a fresh and lively, lingering finish with citrus and nutty flavours. This is a fresh, bright and lively Chardonnay with some fruit richness and grip. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. Chardonnay fruit 80% barrel-fermented with 14% new oak, by indigenous yeasts and 20% tank fermented, to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months with batonnage, and no MLF. 17.0-/20 Aug 2016 RRP $29.99
