Xanadu ‘DJL’ Margaret River Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 18-Jun-2015
Bright lemon straw colour with light green hues. The nose is soft and even with ripe citrus and mealy fruit aromas, harmoniously balanced and integrated with notes of flint and subtle nutty oak. Hints of vanilla enrich the fruitiness, and this grows in depth in the glass. Soft and rich, quite rounded in mouthfeel, the fruit is sweet and has succulence. The citrus flavours and oak are more up-front, with phenolic grip and structure emerging through the mid-palate. The wine remains soft, the acidity quite discreet, and the palate leads to a dry, lingering finish. Mendoza clone fruit barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 25% new oak with batonnage but no MLF. 17.5-/20 Jun 2015 RRP $35.00
