Xanadu ‘DJL’ Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 18-Jun-2015
90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% each Petit Verdot and Malbec, and 2% Cabernet Franc fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged in 20% new oak. Very dark, deep, purple-red colour. This has a classical varietal nose with fresh, clear-cut blackcurrant and cassis aromas, along with herb interest and subtle oak lift. Medium-full bodied, clear blackcurrant fruit flavours are entwined with minty herbs, and a suggestion of leafiness. The fruit is sweet, and enlivened by fresh acidity, lifting the aromatic and piquant herb notes. The wine follows a soft, textured line and the integrated structure supports the fruit vibrancy and primacy, carrying through to a sweet, aromatic, blackcurrant and herb infused finish. 17.5+/20 Jun 2015 RRP $35.00
