Wynns ‘The Siding’ Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 13-Aug-2012
Named after the Coonawarra railway siding, incorporating younger vine Cabernet Sauvignon material and fruit from newer sites. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in new and seasoned French and American oak barrels. Bright ruby-red colour, the bouquet is elegant and fresh with tightly bound blackcurrant leaf and mint aromas, purely expressed and showing good bright lift. Medium-bodied, this is sweetly fruited with leaf and curranty flavours, in the cooler end of the spectrum. The acidity is bright, and the tannins quite reserved, enabling good approachability. Moderately rich, this has a defined linear drive which carries through to a herb-nuanced finish. 4-5 years. 17.5-/20 Aug 2012 RRP $23.99
