Wynns ‘Selected Vineyards’ ‘V&A Lane’ Coonawarra Cabernet/Shiraz 2010

Blended Red from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 13-Aug-2012
76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Shiraz from vineyards along V&A Lane, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 15 months in new and seasoned French oak barriques and hogsheads. Very dark, deep, purple-ruby colour, this has a very fine, intensely penetrating bouquet of ripe, blackcurrant fruit aromas with layers of plums, florals and oak spices. Full-bodied, the palate has a refined elegance to the presentation, with beautifully harmonious cassis, black berries, pepper and spices all interwoven seamlessly. The fruit has aromatic florals and oak shine, all underpinned by fine-grained, velvety tannins. This has excellent tension and vitality, and a very long finish with sweet, blackcurrant leaf nuances. 8-10 years. 19.0-/20 Aug 2012 RRP $69.99
