Wynns ‘Michael’ Coonawarra Shiraz 2009

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 13-Aug-2012
The top 1% of the Coonawarra Shiraz fruit for Wynns, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 14 months in new and seasoned French oak barriques. Dark ruby-red colour. Initially shy on nose, but gradually revealing layers of ripe black fruits, lifted with new oak and Asian spices. Full-bodied, this is densely packed with flavours of sweetly ripe dark red and black fruits, some black pepper and dark spices. This has plenty of depth and power, the tannin extraction growing on palate to form deep core with real palate drive. This is a wine with structure and richness that will unfold over the next 10+ years. 19.0+/20 Aug 2012 RRP $99.99
