Wynns ‘John Riddoch’ Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 11-Aug-2011
100% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 22 months in 100% new French oak. Very dark, deep, full and inky, black-red colour.. The bouquet shows ripe blackcurrant and cassis aromas just starting to hint at secondary, savoury dried herb, bramble and game with cedar elements. Full-bodied but quite elegant in proportion, this has open, sweet and luscious black berried fruit flavours with some tobacco, mint and herb nuances, the oak very harmoniously integrated. This is full and already accessible, but has very fine tannin structure and fresh acidity still, to enable aging another 12-15 years.  Aug 2011
