Wynns Coonawarra Shiraz 2010

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 11-Aug-2011
First made in 1952, labelled as ‘Hermitage'. Very dark, deep, near opaque black-red with youthful purple hues. This has a soft, but densely pack nose of ripe black fruits with black pepper, raspberry jam, herb nuances and violetty perfumes. A medium-weighted wine at 14.0% alc., the fruit is a little shy in expression, but is well-ripened with flavours of ripe dark plums, boysenberries, raspberry jam and florals. Good, supple and fine tannins underline the palate, contributing to the tightness of the wine and a firm line through the length. Fresh acidity enlivens and lifts the fruit on the finish. Aged 10 months in French and American oak. Drink over the next 5-7 years.  Aug 2011
