Wynns ‘Black Label’ Coonawarra Shiraz 2010

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 13-Aug-2012
The first release of this label, representing the top 20% of the Shiraz fruit, utilising new vineyards coming on stream. 100% Coonawarra fruit fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 13 months in new and seasoned French oak barriques and hogsheads. Dark, black-hued red with purple. The nose is firmly concentrated with ripe dark berry fruit and black pepper aromas intermingling with oak spice. Medium-full bodied, this is tightly bound, but packed with richly ripe, sweet black fruits, spices and pepper that unfold and fill the mouth. The fruit is supported by fine, supple tannins and good acid liveliness, resulting in a fine proportion of elegance. This is sweetly ripe, with excellent brightness and energy. 6-8+ years. 18.5/20 Aug 2012 RRP $39.99
