Wynns ‘Black Label’ Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 11-Aug-2011
100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Terra Rossa soils, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 17 months in 84% French and 16% American oak, one-third new. Very dark, youthful, purple-hued, saturated black-red colour. This has a very fine, tight bouquet of real elegance. Ripe, sweet dark red berry fruits with mint and eucalypt show, and some new oak lift. Medium-full bodied, this features bright, vibrantly sweet, dark red berry fruit flavours enriched with notes of eucalypt, spice, cassis, mint and plum jam. The palate is tightly bound with excellent tannin structure and acidity to drive the length. Riper flavours show over the blackcurranty varietal character, and the grip and freshness will see it develop over the next 8-10+ years.  Aug 2011
