Wynns ‘Black Label’ Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 1995

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 29-Jun-2012
100% Coonawarra fruit, the wine aged 12 months in new and seasoned American and French oak. Very dark, black-red colour, the bouquet is very fine and elegant with intense aromas of ripe blackcurrant and cassis aromas, a little oak showing. Quite tight and linear on palate, the blackcurranty fruit flavours are now showing some secondary development with an edge of olives and meat with a touch of funkiness. The wine rests on fine, firmly textured tannins, and bright acidity still. Hints of leafiness combine with game on the finish. This is very Bordeaux-like, quite classical, still with the firmness to age another 4-6 years easily. It will keep on showing elegance. 17.5-/20  Jun 2012
