Wynns ‘Black Label’ Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 1975

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 30-Aug-2012
Medium-deep garnet-red colour with a good heart, brick hues on edge. This is quite an elegant wine on bouquet with appealing rose-petal floral perfumes alongside cool-climate fresh herb and curranty notes. A smaller-scale wine, cool slightly sappy flavours mark the palate alongside classical blackcurrant Cabernet Sauvignon varietal fruit. Attractive, delicate fragrant notes emerge in the glass. This is fresh and lively with good acid balance and soft, fine textures from the tannins, now becoming well-integrated. This is an elegant wine, reminiscent of minor red Bordeaux or New Zealand Hawke's Bay Cabernet Sauvignon based wine at full maturity. 18.0-/20 Aug 2012
