Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth and green-gold hues, lighter edged. This has a firmly concentrated and solid bouquet with a complex amalgam of ginger and spices entwined with savoury citrus blossom and orange peel, unfolding nutty and earthy elements and minerally, reductive nuances. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a tight core of exotic citrus and yellow stonefruits entwined with nutty and earthy elements and minerally reductive notes. The palate possesses a moderately concentrated heart with fresh, lacy acidity enlivening the mouthfeel. Soft phenolic textures add to the presence and grip, and the wine carries to a dry, savoury, citrussy finish. This is a moderately concentrated and tightly bound Viognier with complex fruit, oak and reductive flavours and a palate with freshness and some presence. Match with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean fare over the next 3 years. Ormond Valley estate fruit, hand-picked and pressed to barrel for fermentation to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 9 months in new Portuguese oak undergoing batonnage.
