Woven Stone Ohau Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 15-May-2012
Third crop Sauvignon Blanc cool-fermented to 12.3% alc. and 6.9 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour with some green hues, pale on rim. Intense and firm grassy, gooseberry aromas in the cooler spectrum mark the bouquet which is robustly expressed. Lime and herb notes emerge in the glass. Dry to taste, up-front, bold grassy flavours are supported by a fine textural thread adding depth to the fruitiness. The acidity is racy and slippery and carry the palate to a long finish featuring grassy, herbal notes. This is a powerfully flavoured wine with concentration, the fruit in the cool, grassy side. Serve with salads, vegetables and Mediterranean-inspired fare over the next 2 years. 16.5-/20 May 2012 RRP $17.90
