Clones 667, 113, 115 and 6, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine spending 3-8 days on skins, and given partial barrel maturation. Moderately deep, light ruby-red colour with a little garnet on edge. The nose features bright primary aromatics of dark raspberry aromas with an underlay of fennel, pepper and herbs. Medium-bodied, up-front raspberry and red liquorice flavours show with spicy plum, pepper and herb notes along with noticeable oak. The palate has elevated acidity and light, drying tannins that provide a firmness to the mouthfeel and slender proportion. The acidity carries the plum, spice and oak flavours to a dry finish. This is a medium-bodied Pinot Noir with raspberry and herbal flavours and firm acid-driven mouthfeel. Match with firm salmon, tuna and poultry over the next 3+ years. 16.0-/20 Apr 2013 RRP $26.99
