Woven Stone Ohau Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 05-Apr-2013
Third crop fruit cool-femented to 13.0% alc. and 10.3 g/L rs. Bright, pale golden-straw colour, light on rim. The bouquet is straightforward, soft and matty with musky white and yellow stonefruit aromas, along with herbal and mineral elements. Off-dry to taste, light fruit flavours of savoury yellow stonefruits are supported by musk, honeysuckle and spice notes. There is some sweetness to the palate which is enhanced by a little alcohol warmth. Good acidity and well-handled phenolic textures are in the background, carrying the flavours of savoury honey to a moderately sustained finish. This is a light, off-dry, musky and honied Pinot Gris to serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 2 years. 16.5-/20 Apr 2013 RRP $22.99
