Woven Stone Ohau Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 15-May-2012
Bright, full, lemon-yellow colour. The nose is soft and upfront with aromas of apricots, honey and florals. Medium-dry to taste, yellow stonefruit and honey flavours are framed by a grainy mouthfeel with a textural thread providing some depth and firmness to the palate line. The fruit is enlivened by balanced acidity and sweetness adds some richness. Subtle mineral and floral notes show on the moderately sustained finish. This is an upfront Pinot Gris with some richness and the texture to match tapas and spicy Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 2+ years. Fruit from Ohau, cool-fermented to 13.3% alc. and 12.1 g/L rs. 16.5/20 May 2012 RRP $17.90
