Bright straw-yellow colour with light green-golden hues on rim. This has a fresh and tightly concentrated bouquet of gooseberry, grass and nettly fruit aromas intermixed with fresh herbs and chalk and a floral and esters lift. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, deeply concentrated flavours of gooseberries, grass and herbs form a weighty palate with soft, fine-grained and positive textures. The fruit is enhanced by restrained acidity which adds a degree of sweetness and succulence, and the palate possesses some alcohol drive. The flavours are carried to a long, concentrated and finely textured finish. This is a concentrated, gooseberry and grassy fruited Sauvignon Blanc with good drive. Match with herb marinated poultry dishes over the next 2-3 years. 80% fermented in stainless-steel, 10% in old oak and 10% with skins, with indigenous yeasts to13.0% alc. and 2 g/L RS., the wine aged on lees.
