Woollaston Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 29-Jan-2013
Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with a pale edge. A concentrated and densely packed nose of lifted grass, herb and gooseberry aromas are presented softly, the fruit showing some distinctive cooler-spectrum elements. Dry to taste, exuberant flavours of gooseberries and grass form a concentrated and deep core with good palate weight. The mouthfeel is bright and zesty, but rounded in texture, with harmony and balance. The acidity adds a subtle juiciness, enhancing nuances of tropical fruits that are carried through to a long and sustained finish supported by a little drying grip. This is a bright and full flavoured Sauvignon Blanc with cool-spectrum, juicy and lush grass and gooseberry flavours and a soft, weighty mouthfeel. Serve with salads, vegetable and herb-marinated white meat dishes over the next 2 years. Fruit from ‘Burke's Bank', Hope, indigenous yeast fermented in stainless-steel and old oak to13.5% alc. and 4.9 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. 16.5/20 Jan 2013 RRP $20.00
